The Heavyweight® is certified by the National Floor Safety Institute to improve walkway safety.

“The National Floor Safety Institute was founded in 1997 as a non-profit organization whose mission is to aid in the prevention of slip-and-fall accidents through education, training and research.

The NFSI is led by a ten-member Board of Directors representing product manufacturers, insurance companies and independent contractors.”

The NFSI sponsors a consumer oriented product certification program. They test the products of manufacturers of walkway materials, floor maintenance products and coatings. Their methodology took four years of research to develop and is very comprehensive. For a product to gain NFSI certification it must pass a higher benchmark than currently exists in the industry.

They conduct testing in a lab setting as well as in the field. Their certification is becoming widely recognized and we are proud to be on their list of approved products.
